Actress Jessica Naa Nuerkie Larnyoh
Three years as an actress has taught Jessica Naa Nuerkie Larnyoh an invaluable lesson – no one relies solely on acting to get by.
The realization influenced her decision to start her mobile spa business called Walk-in-masseuse, the Shattered Lives actress tells livefmghana.com in an interview.
“I know people will think that I am doing this because I am not making much out of the acting path I have chosen but the truth is, I was given a license to practice this in December 2014. My passion to be a dermatologist whiles growing up diverted my attention to help people release stress through Massage therapy,” She says.
“I began to make contact among the local chiropractors, orthopedic surgeons, and other business personnel in an effort to build my referrals of necessary massage and targeting full-time workers. The amazing thing was that, it yielded great results.”
Responding to why she waited this long to pursue it she said; “it is because I have released that, I cannot rely on movies only as a source of livelihood, I need to do something and since this is also something I have passion for, I chose it.”
She mentioned traditional Swedish massage, Deep Tissue work, Sports Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, bamboo massage and others as examples of some of the massage therapy she does.
Larnyoh, a graduate of the Central University College began her career as a model. She won the first Miss Teen Ghana at age 15, with time, her love for acting developed.
She has starred in movies like Stalemate, True Lies, I Do and the yet-to-be released, The Table. She has also played roles in several series which have aired on TV and online.
She’s also worked with Eazzy, D Black and Nigeria’s MI as a video vixen.
