Armstrong Affum, known in the showbiz circles as Dadie Opanka, believes he has done enough to win the best rapper of the year award in this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
He made this comment in reaction to criticisms by a section of the music stakeholders that he is not eligible for that prestigious title.
Sharing his expectation in an interview with GNA Entertainment, the hiplife artiste made it clear he has worked hard enough and deserves the rapper of the year award this year.
“I have been in music for quite a while and I always do my best to offer my fans with good rap music,” he said.
Opanka, who released a number of hit and danceable singles in 2018, has been a toast of music loving fans, considering his unique rapping style.
“My focus is not necessarily about winning awards, but I feel I need to be recognized considering my contributions to the growth of the music industry, which lacks quality rappers,” Opanka stated.
Opanka, who couldn’t make the shortlist for the 2018 best rapper award, would be hopeful of gaining the best rapper nomination and possible win the award this time round.
Opanka’s most recent single ‘Menzgold’ has gained massive airplay, as he continues with his thrilling exploits for music loving fans in Ghana and beyond.
