Former member of Akyeame group, Okyeame Quophi who is now a pastor was in the news sometime last week for saying he regretted songs he did in the past and wish people would stop playing those songs.

This didn’t go down well with the public and in an interview on Okay FM, Okyeame Quophi disclosed that he was misquoted.

According to him, how can he asked people to stop playing a song like Mensa aba and more.

“Abeiku, I didn’t say people should stop playing my old songs, no, I was misquoted. How can I ask people to stop playing a song like ‘Mensa aba? That song, just look at the creativity, how we crafted the song, and then I would come out saying because I’m now a pastor, people should stop playing my old songs, no.”

He continued, “When I did the interview on Starr FM, I did say that everything that anybody ever does at any point in their lifetime is good for the moment, it serves a particular purpose, it might be out of fashion now, but for the moment that the song was done it served a particular purpose but I didn’t ask people to stop playing our old songs- just look at a song like Mensa aba, and I would say people should stop playing a song like that, how? Okyeame Quophi asked.
