Ghanaian musician Amerado has stated that he didn’t anticipate his colleague King Paluta’s "Makoma" song would become a mega-hit.

In an interview on Joy FM, the rapper explained that he was on the verge of releasing his single "Playman," which features King Paluta when the latter informed him about his decision to drop a song on the same day.

"My team and I had plans in place. Sometimes, people think about you more than you think about yourself, which is not ideal. I was set to release a song with King Paluta on that Friday when he dropped 'Makoma.' Paluta mentioned he would release his song that day, and I agreed so that I could drop mine a week later," he said.

In response to criticisms from netizens about why he didn't let "Makoma" enjoy some time in the spotlight before releasing his own song, Amerado explained, "I’m not a magician; I didn’t know 'Makoma' would be so big.

“Just because 'Makoma' took off doesn’t mean it should derail my plans. Out of all the big songs I’ve released, including 'Abronoma,' the 'Date Rush' song has received the most interactions on TikTok."
