Ghanaian award-winning music producer Ronald Banful, popularly known as GuiltyBeatz, who produced three of the songs on the album namely, “Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life)” by Beyonce , ‘All Ready’ by Shatta Wale and Beyonce; and ‘Keys to The Kingdom’ by Tiwa Savage and Mr Eazi has shared a story on how he got featured on Beyonce’s project.
The ‘Akwaaba’ hitmaker sharing his story said he didn’t believe the authenticity of an email he first received from Beyonce’s team who requested for an instrumental for performance but ignored the message because he didn’t believe it was them.
“I was contacted last year for a different project but I didn’t believe it was them…It came via email. They were saying they needed an instrumental for performance. I didn’t really follow up…so they ended up using a South African song.”
According to him, after not paying attention to the first email, he travelled to America and met the Artiste and Repertoire manager, who served as a liaison between him and Beyonce’s management, who sent him the mail.
“I went to New York some few months back. I met up with the A&R and communicated with them and that was how the whole deal started,” he disclosed.
Beyoncé curated soundtrack titled ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ will feature new songs performed by multiple artists including Mr Eazzi, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy and some of the biggest array of stars from Africa, with Shatta Wale being the only GH artist on the huge project.
