Rap artiste Kwesi Arthur has revealed that he received news of his BET Viewers Choice nomination just like any other Ghanaian.
Speaking to Mikkie Osei Berko on the ‘After Hours’ show on TV3, the young rapper explained that there was no “prior discussion” with BET before the announcement was made.
“When I heard the news I was surprised and overwhelmed at the same time,” he revealed, “because I wasn’t expecting it and I didn’t hear anything about it prior to it being announced.
“So I just got the news like everyone else heard it,” he stated.
Kwesi Arthur also revealed that he didn’t believe it when he first heard the news, prompting him to confirm on the official BET Instagram page.
“I saw it on Twitter first but I didn’t believe it but during the day people kept sending me congratulatory messages. So I checked the Instagram page of BET International and I realised that I had really been nominated. It was great and I think it was God’s engineering,” a grateful Kwesi Arthur stated.
