When celebrities are famous, they sometimes disregard ordinary people but Kumasi based actor Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, says he hates stars who are rude and arrogant.
“Seriously for me what I hate in life is celebs who are arrogant, meanwhile such people haven’t achieved anything substantial in life.”
Speaking on ‘Pae Mu Ka’, a segment on Kasapa FM’s Entertainment show, the actor said regardless of a person’s wealth and popularity, superstars should demonstrate the attitude of being submissive to all manner of people they come across.
Some Ghanaian celebrities have been labelled as super rude and arrogant by a section of the public because of how they carry themselves once they become popular.
The actor sharing his success story, attributed it to the founder and leader of Kristo Asafo, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Sarfo.
According to him, Apostle took care of him after his father’s death and even though he wasn’t good in class, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo paid his school fees until he completed form 4.
He added that Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo brought him from Oda to Accra to join Nkomode who was also from Anloga in Kumasi to form a band.
The award winning actor on how he got the name “Akrobeto”, said he used to wash a taxi cab which was driven by Nkomoda during their stay in Accra so he had to always wait in the house for his comedian friend to return from work else he won’t get paid.
“I had to always wait for him to come back from work so that I will get the opportunity to wash his car and get paid. If he comes home and I’m not around, he washes his car and I lose the money so he called me Akrobeto because I was always at home waiting for him.”
He noted that the name ‘Akrobeto’ is officially part of his other names since he’s sworn an affidavit.
Akwasi Boadi Akrobeto also revealed that he’s been blessed through his acting career, adding that despite owning mansions, one in Accra and one in Kumasi and numerous cars (Toyota Venza, Honda Crosstour, Toyota Corolla) he will always open up to everyone he meets.
He admonished promising stars to relate well with anyone especially their fans and eschew pride.
‘Pae Mu Ka’ is a new segment on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, it seeks to delve into the real life situations of Ghanaian celebrities. Kasapa Entertainment is hosted by Radio and Television Award nominee, Kojo Preko Dankwa every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm.
