Veteran Ghanaian actress Christiana Awuni has opened up about the transportation struggles she faces despite her status in the entertainment industry, revealing that she does not own a personal car and relies heavily on ride-hailing services to move around.

Speaking in an interview, the Kumawood actress disclosed that transportation has become a major financial burden for her because she constantly has to book rides whenever she needs to attend events or run errands.

According to her, using public transport is not an option because she fears being ridiculed by Ghanaians if she is seen boarding a trotro.

“I don’t have a car, I use Uber for my movements. I can’t pick trotro either, I will be criticized, meanwhile those critics have not bought me a car,” she said.

The actress further revealed that she once owned a manual vehicle but could not drive it herself because she did not know how to operate a manual transmission car.

As a result, she often relied on one of her children to use the vehicle whenever errands needed to be done on her behalf.

However, things took a different turn after the car was reportedly seized around the 37 Military Hospital area.

Recounting the incident, Christiana Awuni explained that she was later invited to an office to complete some documentation and make payments in order to retrieve the vehicle.

Unfortunately, she said the amount requested from her was beyond what she could afford at the time.

“They called me that there’s a debt on the car so I should come and pay, and I told them I couldn’t afford the balance,” she revealed.

Since then, the veteran actress says she has been left without a vehicle and continues to depend solely on ride-hailing services for her daily movement.
