Gospel artist Nacee has responded to accusations from fellow musician Broda Sammy, who alleged that Nacee's position on the Ghana Music Awards board has prevented him from receiving nominations.

It could be recalled that in an interview in April 2024, Broda Sammy claimed that the rivalry between him and Nacee was the cause of him not being nominated for any category at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

He further claimed that he would only be able to receive an award if Nacee was dead.

In a composed response during an interview on Hitz FM's Daybreak Hitz on May 30, 2024, Nacee, real name Nana Osei, refuted these allegations, stating that he does not have time to engage in any dispute.

“No. My time is very, very precious. I don't have the time to chase empty barrels,” he stated.

Nacee stated that he is disappointed in Broda Sammy's inflammatory comments, which he said could put the former in trouble with the police.

“He should advise himself. Some of the utterances are very, very dangerous. Imagine saying that you can only win an award when someone is dead. That's a threat. And the police can hold you for that,” he said.

He advised Broda Sammy to concentrate on enhancing his musical talents and to aspire for recognition through his work rather than resorting to negative comments.

“How should somebody die before you win an award? If you think you are strong enough, why don't you also release?

“Have you released any song that, even when the TGMA shortlist is being considered, your name will even be mentioned?

“Think about your career,” he said.

Nacee, however, offered his support to Broda Sammy and encouraged him to focus on his career's growth and the quality of his music rather than on unproductive confrontations.

“You are my brother; anytime, any day, if you ask for my support, I'm always there to help. But insulting me is not necessary,” he said.
