Entertainment critic, Kojo Preko Dankwa, has reacted to a respond by Samira Bawumia, wife of Ghana’s Vice-President indicating that her meeting with the cast and some players in the Indian movie industry was for a possible collaboration between Ghana’s movie industry and Bollywood in order to boost interest in Ghanaian movies.

The host of Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5fm who was unsatisfied about Samira Bawumia’s reason for meeting with the Kumkum Bhagya actors said she was required to have met with India’s minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and not stars of the popular telenovela.

According to Preko, provided the wife of the Vice-President planned to visit the key members of the Indian Entertainment Industry as she said, then it was not right to go alone without experienced Ghanaian industry players.

In his view, Preko said it would be better if the Second Lady of Ghana could discuss with the Ghanaian industry players about the possible policy and collaborations she indicated inspired her to visit the Indian industry players.

Kojo Preko Dankwa posted on his Facebook Timeline:

“l have read the reaction by our second lady Samira Bawumia on her photos/pictures i saw with the Indian kumkum Bhagya stars. l specifically choose my words carefully by using words like SEEMINGLY & PERCEPTION. Am worried again because her reaction has opened so many loopholes and i must say it calls for a serious proper scrutiny of her comments/reaction. l wonder if indeed she is the one who really reacted or it was done by her handlers.

1- second lady says she met with the cast and some players in the India movie industry for a possible collaboration between Ghanaian movies and Bollywood in order to boost interest in Ghanaian movies : my second lady ; per your explanation it tells me that you had a good agenda wanting to help the movie industry grow but am sorry to say it was not done right and timing was wrong .

Was the meeting of India movie players part of the main agenda why you went to India apart from the women trafficking summit you attended, if indeed it was part, i was expecting a serious, well known, experienced Ghanaian movie players, minister for tourism Arts and Culture, commission on culture, creative Arts council to make that journey with you and meeting them to see how to explore, learn and practically pick notable gains.

if indeed your explanation is anything to go by, (asking aloud); were you able to meet Dr. Mahesh Sharma- ministry of culture India? your pedigree should be able to attract players of such nature and pictures should be the main focus.

2- Can your office share with the industry player (we are interested) some of the possible policy, and collaborations you chanced upon that will help the industry, let's get all the lessons; maybe I will book for an exclusive interview with you on that.

my other worry is can the second lady without fear or favor tell the whole country that she enjoys watching telenovelas coming from India?”
