I feel elated to be a part of the Connect FM launch – Kofi Kinata

Ghanaian hiplife musician Kofi Kinata says he is overjoyed to be a part of the launch of Takoradi-based Connect 97.1FM which takes place on Friday July 1 in Takoradi.

Connect FM is one of the subsidiaries of MG Radio Limited which includes 3FM, Onua FM both in Accra, Akoma FM in Kumasi. The Takoradi-based radio station will blend English and Akan in a crafted way to meet the fast paced youthful lifestyle of cosmopolitan Sekondi- Takoradi which is fluid and evolving.

The station is community-centred and runs programmes that focuses on bringing solutions to everyday social issues. CONNECT’s transmission reaches as far as Elubo, Axim, Dixcove, Tarkwa, Bogoso and beyond in the Western Region and can also be listened to in Cape Coast and Mankessim in the Central Region The big launch is expected to see the station spring into full action to serve listeners in the western region with some exciting programs.

Speaking ahead of the launch, the Takoradi born musician,Kofi Kinata commended the handlers of the station for their vision of bringing Connect FM to Takoradi. “I have heard so much about the upcoming launch of Connect fm and it’s all over the place and I feel very privileged to be a part of this historic event in the Western region.

“This is good for Takoradi and I am hundred percent sure Connect Fm will be a success and put Takoradi out there on the globe. “This will be my first performance in Takoradi after my award at the VGMA and I feel excited to be going back home”.

Other artistes expected to be on the bill include Kwaw Kesse, Keche, Nero X, Kwesi Flex, Aya, Singlet, Bubulububu, and Aba Ocran. The launch will take place at the Jubilee Park from 7pm on Friday July 1.
