“The first time I heard this 'Kpa Kpa Kpa' thing was when Ayitey Powers was fighting Bukom Banku,” revealed Tema-based Hiplife artiste Guru in a bid to explain the inspiration behind his hit single 'Kpa Kpa Kpa movement'.

The man who made the phrase popular, Mohammed Ayitey Okwabe, has demanded a payment of GH¢50,000 from the artiste and telecommunication company, Glo, in the form of royalties for using the now popular term for commercial purposes.

But discussing the issue on the Starr Drive on Starr 103.5 FM, the 'Kpa Kpa kpa movement' hitmaker revealed that his inspiration to do the song initially came from the Ghanaian boxer, Ayitey Powers' comment on how he was going to take out his opponent.

“You know there was some interview he did and he was like - if he catches Bukom Banku in the ring, he would just give him ‘Kpa, Kpa, Kpa-Kpa’, you see? So that was where I got the whole idea from first of all.

“But later on I read somebody also came out with an interview which was on Joy [FM] or something so I did my research and took the shot, the interview and fused it into the video so it was just like taking it to the light. This is just the raw interview. Okay I’m taking it into the light,” he said on Wednesday.

However, Guru admitted he paid Mohammed a visit with gifts in hand over the Christmas festivities.
