I have never been romantically involved with Kwaku Manu – Charly D

Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Charly D, has addressed rumours surrounding her relationship with Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu, firmly denying any romantic involvement.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on March 25, 2026, Charly D clarified that their relationship has always been strictly professional.

“I knew he was married. Kwaku Manu is my boss, and we’re not dating. I want to set this straight,” she said.

Charly D further opened up on the role Kwaku Manu has played in her acting career, crediting him for her rise to prominence in the movie industry.

“If we should talk about someone who has helped me, especially in shooting to fame, I would always mention Kwaku Manu. If not for the movies he shot with me, Ghanaians wouldn’t have known me. They might hear my name and all they would think of is that I sell food,” she explained.

She further expressed appreciation to the actor, noting that her visibility and recognition today are largely due to the opportunities he gave her.

“Because of him, people know me now. I respect him so much for that,” she stated.

Addressing the dating rumours directly, she reiterated, “We have never dated before, and he has never proposed to me. It is just about the work.”

According to her, their on-screen chemistry and convincing performances may have contributed to the speculation, but it is purely a reflection of their professionalism.

“As an actress, I can play every role perfectly. Whatever you see on the screens is us doing our work. Maybe because we’ve known each other for a long time, it makes it easy for us both to go all out for the roles,” she added.
