Ghanaian rapper Medikal has said that he has no regrets blocking Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido on Instagram.

It could be recalled that in early May, 2024, a squabble emerged between some Ghanaian rappers and Nigerian rapper Dremo, who happened to be a signee of Davido.

Dremo, in a song, had dissed Sarkodie after the latter had name-dropped Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy in his song 'Brag'.

This sparked a reply from many Ghanaian rappers including Lyrical Joe, Don Itch and Phrimpong.

Davido, in an act many interpreted as anger, unfollowed some Ghanaian artistes including Medikal and M.anifest on Instagram.

Medikal, in retaliation, blocked Davido.

Opening up about the saga on a live interview on Starr FM, the "Omo Ada" hitmaker expressed no regrets about his decision, suggesting that while he is open to reconciliation, he values mutual respect and loyalty in his relationships.

The rapper also hinted at underlying reasons for the fallout but chose to keep them private.

"He unfollowed me, and I was like, “Ok, cool” so I blocked him. There's a reason why but I don't want to talk about it. I have no regrets blocking him.

"It's calm, maybe one day, the universe will bring us together again. I don't go around looking for problems. But if someone I show love to shows me the opposite, I just go my own way," he said.

Despite the tension, Medikal said he remains open to sharing the stage with Davido in the future, indicating that he harbours no hard feelings.

He likened the situation to his recent reconciliation with fellow Ghanaian artiste D-Black, stating that he is open to resolving conflicts through dialogue.

"I would have no problem (performing on stage with Davido). I don't keep things within me. Just as D-Black walked in here and we settled things, that's how I am.

"If something bothers me, I would react, but when we meet and talk, we settle it," he said.
