Award-winning actress at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA), Gloria Sarfo has added her voice to the growing concerns about the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) brawl with Ghanaian celebrities.
Early this year, the FDA in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) policy banned celebrities from endorsing alcoholic beverages to ensure that minors are protected from being lured into alcoholism.
According to the FDA Ghanaian celebrities who go contrary to their order will be dealt with by the laws of Ghana.
But sharing her thoughts on the recent tussle between the FDA and celebrities on the ‘Pundits' show on GHOne, the Gloria Sarfo noted that she had no interest in being a brand ambassador for any alcoholic company.
She also expressed that some celebrities depend on such deals for income hence the FDA’s decision will make life unbearable for them.
“I think it is not fair that we take the source of livelihood from people. Though for me I will never be an ambassador for any drink like that, I think people should be allowed to just be.
"If not for anything at all, there should be some consideration for people who have that as a source of income," Gloria Sarfo said.
The actress has played an ambassadorial role for many companies in recent times.
Although Gloria Osei Sarfo was unable to make it to the AMVCA held in Lagos, Nigeria, she was awarded as the Best Supporting Actress.
