Converted hip life artiste Lord Kenya has jabbed his colleague Ofori Amponsah who claims he has been called by God to do the ministry work.
Pastor Amponsah shocked his congregants and fans after he strangely choked on a question about his favourite Bible verse in an interview on Starr 103.5FM. The multiple award-winning highlife artiste who quit music to become a full-time Pastor at the Holy Grounds Sanctuary surprised many by staging a comeback into the music industry.
Appearing in the hot seat on Starr Chat with Bola Ray Wednesday, Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya, real name of Lord Kenya, said Amponsah is “confused.”
“Ofori Amponsah is confused,” the 2011 Ghana Music Awards best Album of the Year winner opined. “Everyone who is called to do the work of God has an assignment. I’m an evangelist. Who was he called to be and whatever he said to be let him do that. If he is not then I am disappointed in him.”
He added: “How can a prophet go back in his own way and the next time you are at Kwahu… our God is faithful. We have been praying for him.”
Lord Kenya said he does not miss the stage and will never make a return to secular music.
Lord Kenya was born on 19 September 1979 in Kumasi in the Ashanti region. He is a former Ghana Music awards winner with several hit tracks to his credit. He picked the Album of the Year award at the 2011 Ghana Music Awards.
In 2012, Kenya, however, shocked the world by declaring that he had found a new love in God and was going into full time ministry. Since then, he has remained an evangelist of the cross and a disciple of God.
