A-Plus is the MP for Gomoa Central
Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has defended his outspoken style, saying his focus has always been on delivering results rather than seeking public praise.
Speaking during a discussion on United Showbiz on July 4, 2026, A-Plus mentioned that he deliberately chose to be different because he believes being overly reserved would not help him achieve his goals.
“I’ve had it in mind that maybe if I present myself as a gentleman, I might not be able to achieve anything. I want to be different to see if that will help,” he said.
Highlighting some of the projects underway in his constituency, A-Plus noted that roads which had not seen major work for about 28 years are now being reconstructed.
He explained that, despite overseeing infrastructure projects, he also ensured major community events such as the Easter carnival were successfully organized.
"Twenty-eight years ago, that’s when the road was built, and then we’re going to build the road again. It’s not like because we’re building the roads, so I will leave it like that. When we were doing the Easter carnival, we were also working on the highway at the same time," he stated.

According to the MP, his work extends beyond constituency development, as he has also travelled abroad to attract investment into Ghana.
He disclosed that after the Easter festivities, he travelled to China to engage potential investors before heading to the United Kingdom to brief President John Dramani Mahama on plans to construct an artificial waterfall.
“Right after the carnival, I went straight to China. I had to get investors to come into our economy, too. I went to the UK to meet the president. I went to brief the president on the artificial waterfall that we want to build. I want the president to commission the waterfall next year,” he disclosed.
A-Plus added that he is also pursuing solar energy solutions for the project, insisting he prefers spending his time working instead of engaging in leisure activities.
“We cannot run the place on Akosombo, so I need solar. Again, I went to chase solar while other MPs were watching football. I’m not waiting for someone to blow my trumpet,” he added.
