Renowned Gospel musician, Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, has stated that he is not a member of any political party in the country.

Ampong, speaking in an interview with DJ Murphy Lee on Storm Fm’s "Entertainment Xtra" show, explained that he is an ambassador for Christ and not for any political party.

“I am not a member of any political party … I join the party of Jesus Christ. I campaign for Jesus … right now I’m doing a crusade at Dunkwaa. I devote my time to worship and serve the One who gives life and not any politician.”

He bemoaned that he was misquoted for saying he did campaigned for the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party.

Ampong revealed that his decision to campaign for Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2012 elections was influenced by his ‘Free SHS’ campaign message.

According to Ampong, he was not able to complete SHS due to the death of his dad.

“I saw that Nana Addo’s campaign message was in relation to my situation…because my dad died when I was about to enter SHS 1..So I didn’t had the opportunity to have an SHS education due to his demise. I did the song for him all because this experience,” he said.

Whether he will campaign for any political party in 2016; Great Ampong said that campaigning for Jesus is his number one priority now.

“I don’t have a party card and I don’t have any idea to campaign for any political party again.”

When asked on his definition for Valentine’s Day, he said he does not understand what it entails…and all his focus is on serving his creator.
