Yaa Pono
Uptown Energy’s very own Yaa Pono says people should not perceive him to be a chain smoker of marijuana even though he is a user of the plant popularly known in the Ghanaian society as wee.
He said this in an interview with Delay on the Delay show on Viasat 1.
“I have done wee and I do but it is not an everyday thing for me. It is not something I take in the morning, and afternoon,” he said.
Correcting Delay who had earlier stated that he is an ardent smoker, Pono said he smokes when he feels like but does not take the drugs as a chain smoker.
“To correct what you are saying, there are chain smokers and there are people who also feel like smoking once in a while when they step out. So what I mean is, I have tasted it before, sometimes I go to the ‘Ghetto’ just to go and write music but I don’t smoke. There are at times I also feel like I have to do it.”
As to how he feels when he takes the wee, he said; “it does nothing to me, unlike what people say it does, nothing about me changes, my behavior does not change.
“I think it is because, we are all different people and so the way we react to things are different and this could be one,” he said.
