Controversial Ghanaian artiste, Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel in showbiz has indicated that there’s been a rebranding in her music career and that she is no more the Mzbel that people knew in showbiz.
Speaking to Ama Gyenfa Ofosu-Darkwah on Atinka TV’s morning show dubbed “Ghana Nie”, she pointed out that, it has always been the perception of a sizeable number of people that she is “hardcore” yet she isn’t.
“When people hear of Mzbel they expect to a hear certain hardcore character but I’m not like that. That branding is over. I’m now a mother and if I want to repeat certain things I did in the past they wouldn’t befit me now” she claimed
The “sixteen years” hit maker further mentioned that she made a pause in her music career having received advice from a church she joined, however, decided to redo music because she realised it was the only surviving pillar for her in life.
“When I got pregnant and delivered my baby I made a little pause in music. I went to a church and I was advised to stop my type of music because it is bad, so I stopped and quenched the fire. I realised later that it isn’t bad to do my type of music but I needed to change my style”
“So I’ve started all over. This is the job that puts food on my table and so I can’t stop. I tried a boutique business but it never worked out, I tried an underwear business and it failed to sell, so I came back to do music again and I’m doing well”.
Mzbel also revealed that aside music, she’s been engaging in charitable works all over the country and takes care of close to 16 and more children and expressed that her fear for God has never waned.
