Many Ghanaian artistes have come under severe criticisms on several occasions for their poor stage performance. Many industry players have opined that artistes need to improve their stage craft especially the young up and coming ones who have taken the music scene by storm.
One artiste who has been criticised a lot for his stage performance in recent times is RNB singer and “Jennifer Lomotey” hit maker Kurl Songx.
The young budding artiste has been tagged as a lazy and dull performer but reacting to the assertions, Kurl Songx said he was actually the best stage performer contrary to what critics have been saying.
Kurl Song told www.ghanaweb.com exclusively that as an artiste he tries to connect with his audience rather than jump around.
According to him, he usually tries to know who he is performing for before he does anything on stage and not just jump around when he is on stage. Citing a corporate event as an example, the talented artiste said it wouldn’t make sense to jump all over the stage when performing at a corporate event.
“I am an artiste, before I get to the stage I need to know the kind of people I have to perform with, there is no way I will go to a corporate show, with corporate people and you expect me to jump around”
Kurl Songx said he believes Ghanaians have not paid attention to his performances because he can confidently say he is the best live band performer. He challenged anyone who thinks he is better than him to take the stage and prove it to him.
“I think people haven’t really paid attention to my performances, honestly, let me tell you confidently that when it comes to performance as in Live Band performance, as in young guys coming up, I see myself as number one, an if anybody sees themselves as number one the stage is there, it is not about hit songs”, he said.
Kurl Songx is out with his first single in 2018 titled “Trumpet” which has been highly endorsed by industry players and media personalities such as Andy Dosty, Afia Schwarzenegger and a host of others
