Highlife artiste Kwaisey Pee has disclosed he is single and still searching for love.
The “Mehia Odo” hitmaker made the revelation on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5FM Friday May 27.
According to Kwaisey Pee, he has had a lot of bad experiences with women, for which reason he remains single but is now searching for a woman to have a relationship with.
“I am still trying to see if I can get into a proper relationship. I have somebody I am talking to, who knows, it might work out,” he told host Nana Romeo.
Kwaisey Pee said his hit song ‘Mehia Odo’, which means ‘I need love’, released in 2007, was a personal message he was sending to the world.
He said although women make advances at him because he is a music star, he does not find it unusual since that happens a lot in the showbiz industry. “I am just nice to them but do not accept their proposals,” he said.
Kwaisey Pee referred to modern relationships as “designer relationships”. According to him, it is difficult to find genuine love because latter-day relationships have become all about money and material things.
“When I was growing up, I saw how my dad related to his wife, but relationships today are all about money. It appears if you do not have money, you do not have love. Because of the recent Brasilian wigs and designer wears like Louis Vuiton and Gucci, relationships now have become designer relationships. These internet boys can buy a $3000 bag for their girlfriends and your girlfriend might give you problems because her friends have received expensive gifts from their boyfriends,” the musician lamented.
He advised women to look out for guys with genuine love and not material things for long lasting relationships.
“A lady can follow material things and before she realises she is 40 years and no guy comes proposing marriage. Do not love because of material things, because you do not know the future of the one you have chosen to ignore now.”
Kwaisey Pee noted he was into light skinned women.
