TV and radio personality Jessica Opare Saforo has waded into the controversy surrounding TV3 news anchor and producer, Nana Aba Anamoah.

Last Saturday, management of the TV station released a press statement saying it has decided to take Nana Aba off air until further notice. The statement said “after preliminary investigations internally, and in accordance with TV3’s own commitment to the highest levels of professionalism, management has decided to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air until further notice.”

The statement further said, “we expect guardians of our brand, particularly employees who we entrust to deliver content on air to our viewers, to ascribe to the company’s values wherever they are.”

But speaking on Celebrity Fanzone on Viasat1 last Saturday, host Jessica Opare Saforo said the issue surrounding Nana Aba Anamoah “has gone too far”.

According to her, it is unfortunate Nana Aba was victimized at a time when Twitter must have been bored and therefore, her pictures got that kind of attention.

She further said she is surprised TV3 took that position because, in her (Jessica’s) opinion, it was Nana Aba’s personal Twitter handle.

“If she said she was in Old Trafford, and she wasn’t there, why should you take her off air?” Jessica questioned.

Wanlov Da Kubolor, who was the celebrity guest on the show, said he feels sad for Nana Aba at this time, and there could be more to the issue than it’s being talked about.

He opined that if Nana Aba had come out to say the pictures were just to pull pranks, the TV station should have taken the time to investigate before pulling her off air.

Co-hosts Caroline Sampson and Akosua Hanson also shared their opinions on the issue.
