UK-based Ghanaian artist Mista Sylva has opened up about his influence in making Ghana Party in The Park UK relevant.

Appearing as a guest on the Konnected Minds podcast, Mista Sylva shared insights into his influence on the popular Ghana Party in The Park event.

Organized by Dennis, this annual celebration has become a landmark event for Ghanaian music and culture in the UK.

According to Mista Sylva, he played a key role in transforming it into a must-attend cultural gathering for the youth.

“We made Ghana Party in The Park. We properly spread the culture to the youth,” Mista Sylva explained on the podcast.

“We popularized Ghana Party in The Park to the point where it became big enough for other artists to come and headline. That was our impact,” he added.

Despite his positive efforts for the event, Mista Sylva also opened up about some of the challenges he faced, recalling a time when his microphone was cut off during a performance, even though he was an artist headlining the show.

"One time, during a show, they cut my mic. I had already shut down the event two or three times in a row, and then when I got back on stage, they cut me off," Mista Sylva said, reflecting on the frustrating experience.

Nonetheless, he expressed gratitude to the event's promoters, Dennis and Alordia, for their continued commitment to promoting Ghanaian culture over the years.

Mista Sylva praised their hard work, acknowledging that they have been key figures in the culture, but also urged them to continue improving it.

“Big them up. I don’t want it to seem like we’re calling them out—no, we’re not. They’ve worked hard. At the end of the day, I was going to their parties when I was young, even before Mista Sylva,” he added.
