Kumawood actress Mavis Adjei has addressed allegations made by her colleague, Portia Asare, regarding the decline of the Kumawood movie industry.
In an earlier interview in July 2024, Portia Asare claimed that 'juju' (black magic) and envy were significant factors in the industry's downfall.
Reflecting on her own experiences in an interview with ZionFelix, Mavis Adjei shared that during her time in Kumawood, the atmosphere was filled with harmony and love.
"I was there with Portia Asare, and we used to joke together as colleagues, and the same thing with Nana Ama McBrown. It was all love then," she recalled.
However, Adjei acknowledged that she is no longer active in the industry and cannot challenge Portia Asare’s perspective.
"Portia is still there and she knows what she's talking about. She has experienced all that. So I can't disagree with her," Adjei stated.
