Rockhill Chapel founder Sonnie Badu has refuted reports claiming he stated that no gospel musician reached out to him after his accident in December 2023.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, Sonnie Badu clarified that he listed the names of the musicians who called to check on him, emphasising that the media made an error.

“I must say this; the other time when I was on the television station, I never said no gospel musicians checked up on me. I said some and I added a list of gospel musicians who got in touch but they didn't add that," he explained.

According to Sonnie Badu, his reason for accusing the gospel musicians was because he has a record of checking on the welfare of his colleagues when they face misfortunes.

He added that he was expecting his colleagues to reciprocate the gesture.

"The reason why I made that statement was that if I get to know that a colleague is not well, I reach out to that person. When Joyce Blessing and ASP were involved in an accident, I was the first to reach out to them. And KOD as well. So not hearing from people made me feel bad," he stated.

Background:

Earlier in an interview with Joy Prime, US-based Ghanaian pastor cum gospel musician Sonnie Badu recounted the neglect he faced from his fellow gospel singers following a domestic accident he encountered in December 2023.

He lamented that not a single gospel musician checked on him during his ordeal.

He noted that a few pastors, including the likes of Pastor Jerry Eze, Prophet Agyemang Prempeh of Ultimate Charismatic Centre, Apostle Amoako Atta of the Lord's Parliament Chapel International, and Pastor Kingsley, showed him love by reaching out to him on some social media platforms.
