Gospel musician, Francis Amo says the days of performing for free at churches are over because he charges for every show now, be it at the church or outside the church.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the gospel musician made the point that he does not understand why churches will always expect gospel musician to come and perform for free. He, therefore, told these churches, who will want to use him for free shows that the old Francis Amo is not the same as this new one, and as such, they should accept the changes.
Andy Dosty asked Francis if he has the same arrangement of taking money before performing at his personal church? The ‘Ngooba’ hitmaker revealed that at his church, he does not charge to perform because his church takes very good care of him through m0nthly allowances they pay to him.
The gospel musician also added that he took this decision because, many churches today always show little or no gratitude at all to musicians and instrumentalists who always perform in their churches.
He used the example of instrumentalist going to perform in churches and their attires getting all wet only to be given a dog change of GH 1o cedis to use as transportation. Francis made the point that it is totally wrong and as such called for a change in this narrative.
Francis Amo also stated that the biggest problem facing the gospel music industry now is that most of the churches do not help the gospel musicians to become well established.
However, once the gospel musician becomes well established, these same churches will want to use them for free and as such the decision he has taken.
