Private legal practitioner, Mr. Maurice Ampaw, has opened up about the absence of paternal influence in his upbringing during an interview on the Delay Show.

Reflecting on his childhood, Maurice Ampaw revealed that he was raised solely by his mother, as his parents separated when he was just two years old.

He stated that his father subsequently moved away and started a new family in Cantonments, rarely visiting his original home in Laterbiokorshie.

Maurice Ampaw further noted that despite his father's financial support, which catered to their needs, he lacked emotional connection and fatherly guidance in his life.

"My father divorced my mother when I was two years old and moved on to marry another woman," Maurice explained. "He took care of our financial needs, but I only saw him three times before he passed away. There was a void in terms of fatherly love and attention. My mother raised me and I had not experienced fatherly love," he asserted.

Maurice Ampaw also recounted how he was often labeled as the 'black sheep' of the family due to his rebellious nature.

However, he defied expectations by becoming the only lawyer among his siblings.

"In his will, my father referred to me as a 'bad boy'," Maurice disclosed.

"He thought I was the black sheep but today I am the only lawyer among my siblings," he remarked.

Mr. Ampaw's journey from a challenging upbringing to professional success underscores his resilience and determination to overcome adversity.
