Veteran Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, also known as Fredyma, has disclosed that he is affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and supports them wholeheartedly.
He mentioned that he has been a member of the ruling party since he was young and actively involved in its activities.
The music producer, who has a rich knowledge of creative arts history, shared that his father is one of the individuals who founded the party and worked diligently to sustain it until today.
During an interview with Okatakyie Afrifa on Angel FM, Fredyma emphasized that every individual, whether a celebrity or not, has an affiliation with a political party in Ghana.
“I hear people talking about neutrality. I am a true member of the NPP; my father is a founding member of the party. There is no neutrality anywhere. Everyone has an affiliation. Those claims are lies,” he stated.
Fredyma made this comment while discussing the potential impact of musician King Paluta joining NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign to sing the hit song “Aseda” on the artiste.
The producer expressed that he sees nothing wrong with musicians and celebrities endorsing political parties.
