Sammy Forson, radio host of Live FM’s Route 919 Drive Show, has explained his new found love in losing weight was motivated predominantly by the fear of death.

“I had gotten to a point where I was depressed, overweight and on medication for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I literally thought I was going to die soon so I had to do what I had to do. I also got to a point in my life where I just had to live right,” Sammy Forson revealed in a rather inspiring interview with Glitz Africa magazine.

The highly respected talent manager who has over the years been a crucial member of Sarkodie’s management team said he is currently training himself to reduce his weight from 120kg to 75kg and that the results have been overwhelmingly encouraging.

“It feels good to see my flap again. It feels good to wear a belt again and it feels good to see something you like and buy it, for instance like a shirt. Now, I know I would fit into either a medium or large sizes than the XXL.

“So now, I don’t have to wait till I hear that there are new arrivals at the shop and then rush there just so you get my XXL before someone beats me to it! The interesting thing is when you wake up one morning and you can fit into a pair of shoes that you used to struggle to wear sometime back because your feet were too big and that’s wonderful.

“I was the best man for my friend’s wedding and I was literally limping in the pair of shoes I wore, but now they’re a perfect fit. That’s when you get to realise that fat is not a good thing. When your woman starts calling you sexy more often than she used to, you know something is going on!”

The much-loved radio host said he now spends some quality time at the gymnasium and has become very disciplined and cautious over what and when he eats.
