Veteran gospel musician Stella Seal has said her appreciation of life has deepened since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her comments follow the recent loss of her properties in a flood a few days ago.

Ghana has so far recorded 9,910 cases of COVID-19 with 48 deaths and 3,645 recoveries.

According to the singer, she left home for three days and realised upon her return that her house had been flooded.

She said: “When I opened the door, I saw water; it was scary. I stepped in the water and felt an electric shock, so, I had to step outside and call the electrician who came to disconnect the lights to enable me enter the room. Some people came to help me collect the water with buckets and I had to go get somewhere to spend the night.”

“Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I’ve come to appreciate life more, my appreciation for life is higher. Look at the number of people who lost their lives and left their properties behind. I was not hit by the virus, rather by a flood that destroyed my things, if the people who love me come to my aid, I can buy those things in the shop. Life is more precious; the bible says to give thanks in everything.”

The musician added: “The feeling doesn’t feel good but this is just a chapter.”

The ‘Gyem Taataa’ hit maker lives outside the country but due to the closure of the country’s airport and borders, she has been unable to return to her place of residence.

She is known for songs such as ‘Okyeso Nyame and Ontonko among others.
