Screen icon John Dumelo has disclosed he has patched up with his close friend Yvonne Nelson following a beef which ensued between them last year over the incessant power crisis.
Nelson launched a #Dumsormuststop campaign last year which culminated in a massive demonstration in Accra, attracting top personalities including Prof. Kwame Karikari and Dr. Kofi Amoah.
Dumelo, who is a staunch supporter of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and an admirer of President John Mahama, felt the public uproar over the irksome blackouts was needless which did not go down well with his female colleague.
Speaking on personality profile show Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Starr 103.5 FM, Dumelo revealed they have smoked the peace pipe and have moved on.
“We are good friends,” the award-winning actor stressed on Wednesday. “It did get to me and at the end of the day we still resolved it. I called her at a point asking of something… but obviously it is not like how we were before.”
Dumelo debunked the assertion that he dated Nelson at a point, but said they have been close friends.
According to him, although the two of them had different views over how the government was dealing with the power crisis then, he never got the “feeling that she [Nelson] was being sponsored by the opposition. I think she should have just ended there but the march was unnecessary.”
Profile Dumelo is the first Ghanaian citizen to hit one million likes on Facebook. He is a famous actor and entrepreneur.
He had his secondary education at Achimota School and further studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he studied Civil Engineering.
He was nominated for categories Most Promising Actor and Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 6th and 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards respectively.
