I want to tour the world with afro country music - Kobby Wutah

Ghanaian musician Kobby formerly of music duo Wutah has created his own genre of music he calls Afro Country Music.wutah

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Flex newspaper last week the Songwriter, Guitarist and a singer said “after many sleepless nights of research and hard work, I am confident to introduce to the world my new genre of music called `Afro Country Music’ and I cannot wait to tour the world with this genre I have created. The reason for bringing out Afro country music is that, I love to dance and I love country music because it is cultured” he noted.

“Also, I love the sound of the guitar and the feel it gives when accompanied by soothing voice. This genre is about expressing typical diverse culture with the voice and strings”, he disclosed.

Asking if he will do this for a very long time or he is just testing the waters with his latest track titled warning, he said, “I will be doing a whole album of 8 tracks on this genre which will feature other artistes. I have already recorded three songs on the album. I have featured Kesse on one of the songs and I am looking forward to work with artistes like: Quarme Zaggy, Akwaboah, Sarkodie and Kwabena Kwabena.

He also said, “I am the pacesetter and since I am a main stream artiste who is known spearheading this genre, I don’t think it will be difficult” he added. When asked which means can make the genre stay, he said “my concentration is to popularize the genre by performing it live with my guitar on any platform I get and I know there are a lot of guitar players and singers in Ghana that also need to join me to make this a reality”.
