Spyderlee Entertainment’s signed act Lukeman Baidoo popularly known as Teephlow at the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which took place at the Accra International Conference Center walked gracefully to the stage to pick up his award for the ‘Record of the year’ with his song ‘State of the Art.’

Teephlow faced stern contention from Sarkodie, Samini and Kumi Guitar. Speaking exclusively on the First Show on FNN which is also syndicated on GN TV on Monday, the ‘Preach’ crooner explained his excitement for picking up his first VGMA and promised Ghanaians bigger projects from him.

‘‘… I was hoping to take the ‘Best rapper of the year’ award. At a point, I was like let me relax a bit because these people can be funny sometimes. I purposely went to enjoy myself and to have a good time. I later heard my name for the ‘Record of the year’ and I happily mounted the stage,’’ he said.

When asked what the ‘Record of the year’ award means, Teephlow said, ‘‘I believe it has to do with the most important song within a particular period. That is from production to editing, to the lyrical content. I believe my song deserves that award because it talks a lot about all that is happening around us as individuals and I believe the reason they gave me the chance to pick that award is because they felt that song is important enough.’’

The ‘Phlowducation’ crooner added that his win will definitely raise his price tag.

Teephlow has a lot of songs to his credit including ‘State of the Art’ (2017), ‘Phlowducation’ (2017), ‘Seihor’ (2016) and also collaborated with high profile artistes including Sarkodie, Edem , Ephraim, amongst others.
