Co-host of Celebrity Fanzone, Jessica Opare Saforo, has said she was shocked and hurt when she heard news of Funny Face’s divorce to his wife.
Funny Face, who is known privately as Benson Ohene Oduro Boateng, married his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Nana Adjoa Ntim at a low key ceremony in December 2014.
Barely a year and two months of tying the knot, the famed comedian, ended his marriage but this wasn’t made public until seven months later.
It is still unclear what caused the divorce but Funny Face in a post on Facebook last week confirmed the marriage ended seven months ago.
Commenting on this issue last Saturday on Ghana’s biggest celebrity and lifestyle show, Celebrity Fanzone on Viasat1, co- host, Jessica Opare Saforo expressed her sadness over the issue as she attempted to caution people who may be seeking to get married.
“It hurt me when I heard Funny Face had divorced because Funny Face is a friend. So I actually immediately in-boxed him and I was like, ‘dude is it true?’ and he was like,“yeah seven months…it is true.”
And I said, ‘how long were you married for?’ And he said, “A year and two months…” “It is heart breaking when people go through all the…I do… ceremonies and what not and are not able to keep it,” the beautiful presenter stated.
Jessica furter advised those who may be seeking to get married, insisting on the need for proper due-diligence before settling down.
“It comes back to the issue of trying to get know the people that you settle with. I know you will never know someone 100 percent but I feel like a lot must be done. Questions must be asked and observations need to be on point before you commit yourself or else you might find yourself in these dicey situations,” Jessica advised.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that the comedian’s ex-wife still has her wedding ring on prompting speculations by the CFZ pundits last Saturday that the woman might still be interested in the union.
“I am sure that they have not gone to court to make all of this formal, that is why she’s still got her ring on”, co-host Caroline Sampson argued.
Funny Face has subsequently posted a video on his Instagram page where he denied ever granting an interview to suggest that his divorce was as a result of infidelity on the part of his ex-wife.
