Mrs Dzifa Gomashie, Deputy Minister of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts
Deputy Minister of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs Dzifa Gomashie has applauded Inna Patty’s Exclusive Events Ghana, organizers of Miss Ghana beauty pageant for changing the delusion surrounding the establishment of such events.
Speaking exclusively to FTV News at the arrival of Miss Africa, Rebecca Asamoah, at the Kotoka International Airport, she admitted that, there has been an enormous change since the events outfit came on board in regards to grooming and positioning of the participants.
The 24-year-old, Miss Ghana 2015 second runner up made her country proud after beating 11 finalists drawn from an original list of 40 contestants from across the continent in the inaugural pageant at Johannesburg’s Gold Reef City casino on Saturday, April 30.
She becomes the first woman in history to be crowned Miss Africa Continent ahead of Zambian contestant, Michelo Malambo and South Africa’s Jemimah Kandimiri who placed second and third respectively.
At the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday, 11th May, 2016 to welcome Rebecca back home was the deputy minister, who said the dental hygienist represented her country very well while she congratulated her.
She commended Inna Patty for bringing on board a new height to the pageant.
“I am not one of the people who appreciated beauty pageant by the name, as if you have control over the way you look, I look like this because I am my mother’s daughter, the Deputy Minister stated.
She however, admitted that there has been a lot of improvement in regards to grooming and oratory, adding that these young beauty queens are empowered through the various activities they are engaged in during the competition.
She reiterated the preparedness of the Ministry to help correct the perception since the focus is culturally driven.
Reacting to Mrs Dzifa Gomashie’s statements, Organizer of the Miss Ghana pageant, Inna Patty expressed how humble she was and promised to intensify the essence of the contest to an appreciable standard.
