Having the general public applaud you for your craft as a musician can be awesome but being commended by an award winning artiste as an up and coming musician can be a phenomenal feeling, words can’t only explain.

This is the position of Ghanaian talented vocalist and songwriter KD Bakes who was taken by surprise when Tamale-based hiplife artiste, Ahmed Mujahid Bello popularly known in the showbiz circles as Fancy Gadam dropped a bombshell endorsement for his song “Carry Me Away”.

Narrating how this unforeseen feat was acknowledged by Fancy Gadam, Bakes in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Bernice Owusuwaa on ‘Showbiz Trendz’ said, he had no relationship with the “Total Cheat” crooner until he endorsed his song.

Bakes indicated that, for a while, he didn’t believe it even after the artiste had requested for his personal contact number to get interactive with him due to the kind posture he illustrated.

“When Fancy Gadam endorsed my song I did not know him from anywhere, I have never met him. He only met me on Instagram. He has been following me I did not know and I did not even believe that was Fancy Gadam because he was very kind,” said Bakes.

“He (Fancy Gadam) collected my number and was chatting me for over two months. I still did not believe it, I thought somebody was playing a prank. I woke up one morning and this guy endorsed my song. I was just weak!”

KD Bakes also noted the gesture from the multiple award-winning artiste is an affirmation that his music and talent is moving fast and traveling far even at a time his career is yet budding.

“Some of the things are out of your reach but it only takes the grace of God to put you in such places,” he added.

KD Bakes is popular for his afrobeat song he titled 'Carry Me Away' produced by LayKay with its visual shoot in South Africa.

He is one of the best singers in Ghana and has been consistent in the music industry for some couple of years now.
