Afrobeats star King Promise has said he was ‘unbothered’ by the lack of response from Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy to his congratulatory message on X (formerly Twitter) following the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

It could be recalled that after losing the Artiste of the Year title at TGMA 2024 to Stonebwoy, King Promise graciously congratulated the winner on social media, but did not receive any acknowledgement in return.

This ‘snub’ led many to believe that there was bad blood between the two artistes.

Stonebwoy, however, explained that there was no ill intent or bad blood. He insisted that, amidst the flood of messages post-victory, he simply overlooked King Promise's message.

Despite the public frenzy and speculation, King Promise, in an interview on Hitz FM on September 16, 2024, stated that he was unbothered by the situation.

He expressed surprise at the negative reactions but clarified that he holds no grudges and doesn't take such matters personally.

"I didn't expect it to go that way, where the frenzy was quite negative at a point. I haven't seen him after that, but I have no problem with him. He said it, we have no problem. You know, people just try to make something out of it, which is expected,” he said.

Reflecting on the awards night, King Promise mentioned his gratitude for winning some awards and congratulated Stonebwoy for his achievements.

“Unbothered. Why would I be? I don't take things way too personal, because people have their own ways of understanding and taking things. We had a nice night. I won some awards, and I was grateful to God that all those things happened, and the ultimate award was won by someone who's been doing this for quite a while now and is very good at what he does. And I just congratulated the person because he deserves it, and that's it.

“So I don't think that should be a problem, whether he replied or not, I wasn't bothered about it,” he said.
