Takoradi, July 20, -GNA-A 40-year old ice cream seller told a Takoradi Circuit Court on Thursday that he will continue to smoke wee, preach the gospel and would never sign a bond.
This is what Kofi Adu, a resident at Elubo and a passionate Indian hemp smoker told Police Inspector Kumah Mensah who had earlier told the court, presided over by Mr. George Koomson that Adu was arrested after his mother had reported him in September 2005 for persistently smoking Indian hemp.
He said Adu had remained on remand ever since and each time the court asked him to sign a bond not to smoke Indian hemp, he told the court that smoking Indian hemp boosted his spiritual advancement and could therefore not stop.
Adu, who appeared in court holding a Bible and a notebook told the court he was sick because he could not have access to Indian hemp and this was hampering his spiritual growth but added that he would abandon his Ice cream business and preach the gospel of Christ and smoke his wee.
All efforts by the presiding judge to convince Adu to abandon the smoking of wee proved futile while others who had cases before the court laughed at his responses.
The court however, acquitted him for want of prosecution. A soon as he was acquitted, he burst into prayers shouting "Jesus, Jesus" and started weeping.
