Popular Kumawood actor and movie producer, Michael Afrane says he will lay down all his acting ‘tools’ if ex-president John Mahama, now flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), loses the 2020 elections.

The actor who was speaking in an interview at the launch of Rev Opambour’s album said it is obvious that the Nana Addo led NPP government cannot handle the economy of Ghana.

Michael Afrane accused the NPP government of thievery and being the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana, and lambasted them for plunging the country into scandals.

“…I said that if His Excellency John Dramani Mahama doesn’t come back to power, I, Michael Afrane, will lay down my acting tools and never act or produce any movie ever again.”

He continued: “I know what I am saying, I mean look around, things have become worse under this government, nothing is working, and things have just fallen apart. The Nana Addo led government has plunged this country into scandals upon scandals, thievery, and corruption. The thievery and corruption is beyond understanding. NPP is the most corrupt government Ghana has ever seen.”

When reminded of the exploits of Nana Addo and his government on the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, the actor quickly rebutted that Mahama under his tenure started that policy, the Progressive Free education for which the Community Day schools were built. The actor further said free education is enshrined in the constitution and so implementing it was not an extraordinary achievement.
