Celebrated Dancehall Artiste Emmanuel Andrews Samini popularly called ‘Samini’ has stated that he will not hesitate to visit the Flagstaff House on his birthday if invited by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He admitted that the Flagstaff House is not a playing ground for entertainers saying he will not turn the invitation down if invited.
President Akufo-Addo through a Twitter message weeks ago invited self-acclaimed Dancehall king Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr popularly called ‘Shatta Wale’ to the presidency and he responded to the invitation.
After the President’s invitation to Shatta Wale, Samini also twitted and requested to be invited to the presidency.
But speaking with Naa Klordey Odonkor on Ultimate Brunch, he described his twit as a ‘joke’ aimed at easing pressure on Twitter
Samini who will be celebrating his birthday on December 22, 2017 said its every artiste’s dream to have a tête-à-tête with the President and that he will gladly accept the invitation if invited.
The multiple award winning artiste indicated that its impossible for the President to invite every ‘Tom, Dick or Harry’ to the Flagstaff House during their birthdays.
He showered praises on the President for connecting with artistes by inviting Shatta Wale to the Presidency.
‘That was a joke, it was just to ease pressure on Twitter, but I just said that let me have some fun, but hey, the President is not always on Twitter and always ready to answer or respond to people. I just tried to have fun, but kudos to the fact that as an artiste (Shatta Wale) reached out to him, he responded to and was able to make the invitation actually happen. Its a big thing for the creative arts industry as a whole.
‘But I don’t expect the President to be able to host every other achiever in this country. Because its quite a tall list from Super OD to Kojo Antwi all the way down to Abraham Attah. If you want to invite everybody on their birthday, give the President a break it can’t happen. If he responds and invites me, why not I will go, everybody wants to have a glimpse of the Flagstaff House come on, for that matter as a regular Ghanaian if invited why not,’ he explained.
The ‘Linda’ hit maker said a perfect gift he expects from the President on his birthday will be the President joining him and his fans on one big stage.
‘Something that will honour me and my generations will come to know of,’ he said.
Samini, whose new song ‘My Own’ is receiving massive airplay will soon embark on a regional bus tour to reconnect with his fans.
He promised to put up an electrifying performance during the ‘S’ Concert in Accra slated for Friday December 1, 2017.
‘To then fans out there, come out in your numbers, am coming out to deliver and you will have a feel of the current Samini, to the artistes that are coming there, lets make sure the fans are happy,’ he said.
