Sensational gospel artiste Gifty Osei has stated that she is winning hands down the gospel artiste of the year in the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
Though she is competing with gospel gurus such as Nacee, Joe Mettle, Cecy Twum, Celestine Donkor and Patience Nyarko in the same category, she is optimistic that she is the best among her colleagues.
Gifty said she has no competitor and that she will take home the gospel artist of the year award come this Saturday April 14, 2018.
Speaking on Abusua Mmre with Nanahemaa, Gifty Osei affectionately called ‘Empress 1’ told her fans to vote massively for her to win the award since is all about votes.
Asked why she was so confident about winning the award this Saturday, she explained ‘my Adom song which made great impact, had massive airplay, I had lots of shows to perform, I had lots of international concerts and all these make me relevant in the industry, which give me upper hand over my competitors’.
According to her, most of the gospel musicians in the country are limiting their prowess in the music industry charging them to go beyond their boundaries in promoting their brands.
She therefore cautioned her fellow industry players to shun paying attention to critics on social media since it will not take them far.
“If you pay attention to everything on the internet, you will fall sick and die. I am just who I am and I am modifying it. We are limiting ourselves. There is no old way, we only modify things to make them better for our fans,’ she said.
Gifty has won several awards including VGMAs.
