Ideal Finance, the well-established Financial Company has expressed its disappointment in the rantings of gospel singer, Celestine Donkor, against the Company over some misunderstanding on sponsorship package.
The songtsresss called the company ‘disorganized’ and its employees, ‘incompetent’ during her outbursts on Rainbow Radio over the weekend.
According to her, the Company promised to be title sponsors for the 6th edition of her ‘Celestial Praiz’ music concert but reneged on that promise at the last minute, deciding to pay 20% of the proposed amount after all commercial and adverts had the Company as title sponsors.
Investigations by us at the firm indicate that, the claims of the gospel singer were not entirely factual.
A member of the PR Division of the Company stated that, it is not the first time the Company is supporting an event in the country. Over the years, it has extended support to various events and shows in the country and in that regard, there’s a Committee that sits on such proposals and there is a laid process by which sponsorship are approved.
The Company did receive a sponsorship request from the artist, and just like they do to all requests, the Committee sat to review the request.
The Company did not write officially to the singer, approving of the sponsorship or the amount that was requested for. It did not give any approval whatsoever for the use of its name and logo as title sponsors.
Without its consent, approval and agreed amount, it is unfathomable for the Company on why the singer and would go out and publicly castigate the Company for her team’s decision to use the company as title sponsors and to state unashamedly that, the Company reneged on its promise to give 100% of the amount requested.
As part of its procedures, the Company also has its own timing on when to release funds for any sponsorship, so, it finds it odd that, Celestine would be making a case of the Company deciding on what amount to give at the ‘last minute’ – as she puts it.
The source, however disclosed that, Ekow Blankson, the Corporate Communications & Strategy Head of the Company did have a personal conversation with the Manager/Husband of the artist on whatsapp – something he does with some industry persons due to his association to the field as an actor and industry bigwig.
There was no where during the chatter, Ekow gave approval for the use of the Company’s name as title sponsors and never did he promise that a 100% of the requested sponsorship money would be given to the singer.
What he did, was to give the go-ahead of the Company’s name to be used in the crawler advertorial for the event upon severe urging from the Manager/Husband of the artist.
This portal can confirm that, the Company is not pleased with the unwarranted and misinformed raving of the gospel singer and her actions may affect how the Company commits to future sponsorship requests that may be brought to it.
