Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu has asked the government to include the Movie Industry into it’s most touted “One District, One Factory” policy in order to inject some level of seriousness in the industry.

According to him, currently, the unavailability of laws in the movie industry has offered a platform for industry players to “do what they want” and that has brought about the dwindling fortunes of the movie industry.

Kwaku Manu who was speaking to EIB Network’s GhOne TV said: “For me, I expect that our father Nana Akufo-Addo will come and take the movie industry and hand it over to a private person to manage it for us because there are no laws in the movie industry so people do whatever they want. If the government sees the movie industry as part of the one district one factory, they will know that our district is bigger and they will focus on making the industry better”.

He used the opportunity to call on the actor guild to as a matter of urgency to meet with the actor and actresses in order to build a better movie industry because the industry is gradually dying.
