Indian president, Pranab Mukherjee has expressed enthusiasm with efforts by Ghanaian filmmakers to unite India and Ghana movie industries.
The Indian president was in Ghana for days to strengthen Ghana-India relationship within rapidly evolving geopolitical dynamics.
As part of his activities in town, he met National president of Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG), Richard J. A. Boateng on Tuesday June 14, and they spoke about Bollywood’s relationship with Ghana’s movie industry.
Lauding earlier efforts by Ghanaian and Indian filmmakers to, integrate the two industries, he assured the movie makers of his greatest assistance.
Late last year some Ghanaian movie stakeholders including Richard J. A. Boateng and Greater Accra Regional Director of Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG), Haruna Seidu Soale aka Zoree traveled to Indian to negotiate a partnership deal with Indian filmmakers.
One of the major agreements from that negotiation was Indian filmmakers coming down to Ghana to shoot movies. It is believed that such a collaboration will benefit both countries.
