Interview: Scientific speaks

After a long break from the music scene, talented Hip hop artist, Sonny Jamaal Tayshaun Tubman, popularly known as Scientific, is back with a classic banging hot new single, Ticket to Ride, to reclaim his title as the undisputed hip hop export from Ghana (though he is not Ghanaian).

Like any of his songs he is known for, Scientific displaced 'mad' rapping skills with dope punch lines and heart-warming lyrical delivery, with suited help from Jayso, producer Extraordinaire.

GHlive.com met with Scientific to talk about his new single, Ticket to Ride and get up close and personal with him.

Is been a while since we heard something from you, any particular reason?

I was away for 5-6 months touring and working on a lot of materials and felt it was the right time to drop this new single because my fans have been waiting for too long

Why the title Ticket to ride?

Ticket to ride, because I'm letting folks know I got what it takes to make it to the top and be successful, because of my ability to make good music, and with God too with me there's no stopping me.

Any particular reason why you featured Jayso on this track?

Jayso is a dope producer, and I have worked with him on a lot of classic materials and we both connect really well, and this song was done 5years ago and is still relevant.

Are we seeing a video for the song any time soon?

Most definitely, and it’s in progress, and a lot of top video directors want to shoot it

The Hip-hop music industry in other African countries is booming than Ghana’s, why is it so? Is it the artist, culture or the people?

Everything you mentioned are all factors that affect the Hip-hop industry, but I think it's slower in Ghana and just a matter of time; because me and a lot of my colleagues are putting in work to make this hip hop music industry elevate

Recently we heard you were admitted at the hospital, was it anything serious?

Yes, it was serious, I had to undergo a surgery and thank God it went well and I'm recovering gradually

We heard you were about to release a gospel Album, how true is that?

Nah that is not true, but some people have confronted me about that so still giving it a thought, and that is why I always give God the glory in everything I do.

When will you drop the next single?

Don’t know yet but I got a lot of songs waiting to be released so will just keep Ticket to ride in the lime light for now

Is there any information about you out there you want to clarify?

Yeah sure, I just want my fans out there to know its back to the old me right now, that is the Africa Unite type energy and flow I'm gonna give them, so more classics on the way. Thanks to the Almighty God for blessing and guiding me thru all my trials and tribulations

Thank you for your time, any last word?

Yeah just wanna Thank God 4 giving me such talent to explore to the world and big-ups to my family, fans and friends 4 supporting me and all radio stations, media houses, Dj’s, etc, for promoting my music on a big platform.
