Paa Kwesi, a member of the defunct group, Dobble, has expressed his delight with their song Christy being adjudged as the Most Popular Song of the year in the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2017.

In an interview on Radio Central 92.5 drive-time show hosted by Amansan Krakye on Easter Monday, the highlife singer said that looking at the number of good songs released by various artistes in the calendar year, he feels blessed to have been awarded.

On issues relating to the break up of the group, he said " in all things we must give thanks to God for He knows best".

He added that instead of focusing on the past, he would rather concentrate on the present and project for the future.

Commenting on his latest track, Ab3, which literally means the Palm tree, Paa Kwesi said there are numerous benefits that can be derived from the palm tree which goes a long way to sustain society in diverse ways.

He noted that with the benefits aside, the palm tree can last for as long as 30 years and also 'Ab3' is used in all the stages of life thus from birth to death.

To buttress the divine nature of the palm tree, he said biblically palm branches were used to welcome Jesus Christ upon His triumphant entry to Jerusalem, hence the name Palm Sunday.

He added that highlife as a genre of music can be used to inform society about the wonders of nature.

Paa Kwesi advised Christians to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and be mindful that His crucifixion has brought salvation to mankind.

Dobble produced hit songs such as Christy, Gud Mood, Walai Talai, Otan hunu, Only U, Spark my Motor, Deepside of love which featured Shatta Wale among others.
