Given that obtaining the status as a celebrated Ghanaian artiste can be described as back-breaking, Afro soul singer, Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, known on stage as Cina Soul has highlighted the challenges that come with perforating the Ghanaian music market.
“Narrating her ordeal to Elsie Lamar on Ghanaweb’s 'Talkertainment' programme, the songstress said; “It’s hard to penetrate the Ghanaian music market, your music probably won’t sell, people wouldn’t like you, some people who have grown in the industry will tell you that your music won’t sell.”
“Sometimes these comments can break you and you tend to ask your self would this music that I’m doing yield results at all…Even people would sometimes sabotage you.” She bemoaned.
However, pulling out a list of her favourite Ghanaian artistes which includes Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, among others, the soul singer named Efya as her role model.
“Efya is like a big sister to me. If I have to get her on a song, it means I’d have to do a vocal training for six months. I have to give it my all because she is amazing. I look up to her so much. I won’t just get up to do a song with Efya, it has to be well-prepared,” she stated
She also hinted of releasing an album this year which might have some possible collaborations with some of her favourite artistes.
