Iwan Causes Confusion In Samini’s Camp

Ghana's multiple award winner Emmanuel Andrew Samini, and rising Ghanaian dancehall icon Iwan, to the eye, may appear to be good friends, but in reality, it is a different case altogether.

Information about the two indicates that they are in a secret cold war. Sources told BEATWAVES that Samini is not enthused about Iwan’s That Day’ song, which has the same beat as his Trigger My Thing song, despite the differences in lyrics.

Sound engineer Jam Master J, initially did the sound for Samini, but decided to use it for Iwan’s That Day as well. But a source told BEATWAVES that Samini is worried about the development, as he fears it will set a tone for comparison.

Meanwhile, the MTN ambassador’s manager, Anthony Pun, took a strong exception to the allegations. “Where from this story too.Basically, we ourselves proposed to Iwan’s camp that we would like them to use the rhythm. This is because Samini really put out that rhythm for upcoming dancehall artistes.

It is just one of his surprise packages for the industry. There is nothing like he is not happy, I can assure you. We are even looking at releasing another rhythm very soon,” he said.

Iwan, according to the source, is also claiming his lyrics are richer than Samini’s.

When contacted about the alleged fracas and claims that his rhythm was supreme, Bulldog, CEO of Bullhaus, said his camp has a good relationship with Samini’s.

“I have not got any signal to the effect that Samini is not happy with Iwan.” About the rhythm supremacy, Bulldog said Iwan respects Samini for the height he has attained on the music scene, “However, we can’t say a different artiste is better than us.

What does Tony mean by Samini did the rhythm for underground artistes? It is on a compilation we did together”, he said. Bulldog seized the opportunity to give a brief background of Iwan, and how he started. From the northern part of Ghana, Iwan, who is from Dagomba, is said to be the last born among seven siblings.

His hobbies are music, watching adventurous and comedy movies, and hanging out with close pals. He is inspired by Capleton, Gentleman and Sizzla. Iwan took music seriously after secondary school, and like a ritual, he took his studies at heart and in less than a year, he had mastered the art of producing his own tunes.

The up-coming star is currently working on a self-titled album ‘IWAN-My Time’, which features tracks like Still Love Me. That Day, Thanks & Praise and a lot more.

He has performed on several stages, including Ghana Music Awards, Sizzla Live in Ghana Concert, Miss Ghana, 4Syte Music Video Awards, and many more. Currently, he is at the University of Ghana, Legon, with the School of Performing Arts, and reading Theatre Arts, Music and Dance.
