On Saturday November 9, 2013, Speech Productions in collaboration with Prime 89.1FM will launch the acoustic album of Joe Mensah, known in showbiz circles as JM de Voice, a growing singer who is ready to take Ghana’s Music Industry by storm.
The launch is scheduled to take place at the Campanilla Pub located at the Tema Mall.
According to Enock Agyepong, CEO of Speech Production, the launch will be done in a way to avoid miming. So each musician coming to support JM would be performing with a live band. He said miming should be a thing of the past.
"The launch is going to be acoustic. We will be showcasing artistes that can play live; it wouldn't be about miming this time around. Miming should be a thing of the past," he said.
JM shares in the sentiments of his Manager, he said, "It's about time we [Ghanaians] know that; we have good musicians in Ghana. I mean musicians who can stand on stage and perform to a live band and play an instrument, be themselves and be original."
Even though he is yet to release the album, JM is said to have started causing fear and panic in the music industry shortly after releasing "Still In Love", a track on his upcoming album "Just Me".
He hopes after his launch into the industry, he will continue to do great tunes because, "I think Ghanaians are ready for me and my music because I believe in good music, and one thing I have learnt about music is that, when you do a good song, it doesn't matter if its reggae, highlife, hiplife, RNB, if it's a good music, people will patronize it."
JM is a partner of Ras Biggy in the Akesifour (AKC4) group which churned out tunes like 'Angel', 'Say Ahh', 'Eye Mi De', 'I'll Be There' and their biggest hit 'African Girl'.
The launch will see performances from guest artistes such as K.K. Fosu, Kesse, Ras Biggy, Nana Yaw Kumi (1Liter), DJ Renzo (Ivory Coast) and others. There will be an after party at Vienna City, Tema.
Other tracks on JM's "Just Me" album include ‘Blue Skies’, ‘Ooh Oh’, ‘Heart Of Fire’, ‘Engine’ etc.
